Hawaii has re-opened its doors to visitors and people are welcome with some restrictions varying from island to island.
I have to confess that I am experiencing mixed feelings about the sad reality that is hitting Hawaiian tourism and businesses and I can only think of having in place future policies that secure a balance between the responsibilities (and number) of visitors that come to the islands and the way natural resources are protected.
At the same time I am able to enjoy most of the beaches with an almost surreal feeling of undiscovered nature , I know that the economy of the islands is hurting tremendously.
Waimanalo Beach in Oahu is one of the many wonderful beaches that I have had the privilege of visiting during these hard times and its beauty humbles me and reminds me of how blessed we are to live on this beautiful planet.
This is my first painting of Hawaii and I am wondering if you would prefer me to focus more on the water (like in the waves series) or the landscape in general (like this one)?
